What you’ll love about smart film

Privacy when you need it

A quick switch changes your glass from clear to frosted. No curtains to draw, no slats to adjust.

A clean, uncluttered look

Keep the focus on your glass and your space, without bulky window coverings or dangling blind cords.

Softer light

The frosted finish spreads light for a softer appearance and can help ease direct glare, while still letting light into your room.

Less fuss to clean

There are no slats to dust or curtains to wash. Just care for the film using the cleaning guidance we provide.

Ideas for home and work

From bathroom privacy to boardroom partitions, bifold doors and patio doors, there are plenty of ways to use smart film. We’ll help you find the right fit for your space.

Your smart film questions, answered

How does smart film work?

It uses electrical power to change its appearance: switch it on for a clear view and off for a frosted finish. We’ll talk you through the controls and plan the power connection as part of your installation.

Will it look just like normal glass when it’s clear?

Not quite. You may notice a slight haze, especially from an angle or in certain lighting. Trying a sample at home is a great way to get a feel for the finish.

Does frosted mean blackout?

No. The frosted finish gives privacy while still letting light through. You may see silhouettes when someone is close to the glass, particularly with strong light behind them. If you want a darkened room, let us know so we can discuss what you need.

Can smart film help protect furniture from fading?

Film with UV-rejection properties can help reduce UV-related fading. It won’t stop fading altogether, as heat and visible light play a part too. We can share the UV figures for the film recommended for your project.

Will it help with glare or heat?

The frosted setting can soften direct glare, but privacy film isn’t the same as solar-control film. Tell us if bright sunlight or an overheated room is your main concern, and we’ll help you explore the right approach.

Can you fit it to my existing glass?

Often, yes. Send us a few photos and rough measurements, and we’ll take a look. We’ll check the glass and installation details before you order.

What about bathrooms, bifold doors and patio doors?

These can be options too. We’ll check moisture exposure in bathrooms and plan wiring that works with moving doors, so the installation suits how you use the space.

How much does it cost to run?

That comes down to the amount of film, how long you keep it switched on and your electricity rate. We can provide the power figures for your proposed installation to help you work out the running cost.

Will I see the wiring?

We plan the wiring around your glass and the surrounding finishes, looking for a neat, discreet route. We’ll explain the options before installation so you know what the finished result will look like.

How do I keep it clean?

We’ll give you care instructions with your installation, including which cleaning products to use. Take extra care around the edges and electrical connections.

Can I try a sample first?

Absolutely. Our Clear and Grey Smart Film Samples are A4-sized and USB-powered, so you can compare both finishes in your own space. Your full installation will have its own planned power supply.

Is the consultation free, and do you offer a warranty?

Yes, consultations are free, and we offer a two-year post-installation warranty. We’ll share the written terms so you know what’s covered.

What do you need from me to get started?

A few photos, rough glass measurements and an idea of what you’d like to achieve are a great start. Let us know where the glass is, whether any doors move and if there’s power nearby. Don’t worry if you’re not sure about the details, we’ll talk it through together.
